Northmoor University is committed to making its website, its campus and its programs usable by everyone. This page states where we are, including where we fall short.

## This website

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. The site is tested with screen readers and keyboard-only navigation, and we check color contrast on every template.

**Known gaps.** Some older PDF documents in the research pages are not tagged and are not accessible to screen readers. We are replacing these as they are revised. If you need one of them in an accessible format now, ask and we will produce it.

Some data visualizations in research pages carry a text description rather than being independently navigable. We regard this as a partial solution.

## Campus and facilities

Teaching buildings, the library and the main lecture theaters are step-free and have accessible toilets. The Halloran Building atrium and the Kestrel auditorium are fully accessible.

**Some facilities are genuinely difficult.** The main deck of R/V *Cascadia Strait* is reachable by gangway; the laboratories and bridge are below deck and reached by ladder. Prentice Coastal Field Station has step-free access to the dry laboratory and the accommodation buildings, but the shore itself, which is where the work happens, is uneven ground.

We do not describe these as accessible when they are not. What we do instead is plan around them individually. Field and vessel work has been arranged in alternative forms for students who needed it, and program directors will discuss this before you apply rather than after.

## Teaching and assessment

Students with a documented disability should contact student services, which arranges adjustments to teaching, assessment and field work. Adjustments are made for field courses as well as classroom ones; the field element of a degree is not exempt.

## Events

Tell us about access requirements when you register for an event and we will arrange what is needed. The tour rotations at open days include alternatives where a facility is not step-free.

## Telling us when something does not work

If part of this site, the campus or a program is not accessible to you, tell us. Reports go to the office concerned or to student services, and we would rather hear about a problem than have someone work around it silently.

We aim to respond within five working days.
